And now a few words from our friends up in beautiful British Columbia…
Otherworld 2013: Patterns
WHEN: June 28-July 1
WHERE: Shawnigan Lake, BC (exact location to be announced to ticket holders only)
TICKET SALES OPEN APRIL 20 (7PM) at http://otherworld.kindlearts.ca
THEME: Patterns surround us, from the repeating geometric shapes hinted at in the texture of the desert floor, to the mathematical progression implied in the curve of a snail’s shell. We can observe patterns through taste, smell, touch, sight, and sound. Patterns in science, mathematics, or language may be observed through the analytic power of our minds.
Think about some of the patterns that affect your life every single day. The sound of your keys jingling, the smell of your hairspray in the morning, the routine of feeding your dog. Almost everything that we do is ingrained in some kind of pattern. What are your patterns?
More information after the jump.
Otherworld 2013 provides you with the opportunity to play with these patterns. In particular, it offers a chance to experiment with the patterns that form your life, that guide you and bind you. Will you reinforce the pattern? Or will you break it?

Ticket Sales FAQ
- When should I buy my tickets?
As soon as they go on sale: April 20 at 7PM (PST). We expect to reach capacity in less than 1 week after sales open!

No. Please practice Radical Self-Reliance. We accept credit card and debit payments via PayPal only. Be responsible for your own experience!
- How do I set up a PayPal account?
It is easy to set up, check out the PayPal video here. It takes a good week to set up with a bank (the video shows you how it works!). Setting up a credit card is virtually instant. Get your PayPal account set up right away!
- What’s the theme and stuff?
Go see the home page!
- Why are prices higher for Otherworld this year?
Otherworld is operated by the Kindle Arts Society. The majority of the annual operating budget for KindleArts (including all of our Quarterly Art Grants) is generated by this event. Check out the Transparency page to review the Otherworld Budget. If you have more questions, please contact Directors@KindleArts.ca.
- There used to be tiered ticket prices for Otherworld. Why aren’t the prices tiered this year?
Price tiers exist to get people to buy tickets earlier so that the event has an operating budget. However, Otherworld is so popular that this is no longer necessary. We expect the event to reach capacity in one week or less.
- I want to buy some tickets for my friends, but I don’t know which friends, so I can’t supply thier names. Can I still buy tickets for them?
Yes! Register the tickets under your name to start with. You’ll need to figure out who your guests are no later than 1 week before Otherworld. At that time, use the Ticket Transfer Process to put the tickets into your friends’ names.
- I don’t want to use my legal name. Do I have to put my real name on the registration form?
Yes, you do. The name on your picture ID is your ticket. If the picture ID doesn’t match the name we have on our list, you may not enter Otherworld.
