I think it’s fair to say that I really like the things that get posted here on the Paisley. And there are some things I love. But this? This I REALLY love. JR’s “Inside-Out Project” has resonated with me in a way that I find hard to define. Maybe because he’s found a way to use paper and glue on a truly effective way. Maybe it’s that he’s found a way to bring both art – and a voice – to people who live under difficult conditions and given them a way to say to the world “I’m here!”
There are a few more pictures after the jump as well as two TedTalk videos: JR’s 2011 TED Prize talk where he describes the artistic path leading to his wish to start the “Inside-Out Project” and his follow up one year later to show the progress his wish has made. If you’ve got 30 minutes, it will be time well spent. I promise.
